My name is Ann! I’m a septuagenarian, and I’ve decided that each day is a gift to be made special — for myself and for everyone around me. This little blog is part of that. It’s where I’ll share my love of creating: knitting, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, cooking, baking, journaling, and Bible study. (If you’d like to know more about why I started this site, you can read my story on the About page.)
Today I want to tell you about journaling, because it’s close to my heart — and honestly, this blog is going to help me do more of it.
When I journal, one of my favorite things is scripture scribing: copying my favorite verses right into my journal, slowly, by hand. And I love decorating each page with ephemera — special bits of paper, memorabilia, little treasures that make the page feel like mine.
That love spills over into something else I do: I love buying new Bibles and gifting them to friends who need one. Four of my grandchildren have Bibles from me, filled with highlighted verses and little notes in the margins. And my daughter Aimee has one of the Bibles I was using myself — she tells me she loves running across my notes in it.
Here’s what I want you to think about: those notes, those highlighted verses, those decorated pages — that’s a legacy. Long after I’m gone, someone I love will open a page and find me there.
So that’s my encouragement for you today: pick up a pen, open your Bible, and leave a little of yourself on the page. Future someone will be so glad you did.
I’ll be back soon with more of what’s on my creative table. Thanks for stopping by — I’m delighted you’re here.
God bless!
